2. 10 WAYS TO HELP PROMOTE A GOOD NIGHTS REST


✨Hi friends!!! First of all, I just wanted to thank you all so much for all the love I received on my last post, it truly meant so much to me! πŸ₯° I am still very new to this whole blogging thing, but it’s been really fun and I’m very much enjoying it! Thank you thank you for all y’all’s support! πŸ’—

✨For the last few years, I have struggled immensely to get a good nights rest.  My mind tends to race at a million miles a minute the second my head hits the pillow, and I find myself exhausted, but unable to sleep!! Anyone else!?

✨As we all know, sleep is VITAL! Not only for your physical health, but your mental well being as well.  Lack of getting a good nights rest can result in feeling confused, sad, and anxious.  

✨As I have been on my journey to get good sleep, I’ve picked up a few tips and tricks, and I’ve decided to share what’s worked for me in hopes of helping others!

✨DISCLAIMER: these things work for me and are not guaranteed to work for you, but the chances they will are pretty good ;) 

✨Without further ado...
𝑇𝐸𝑁 π‘Šπ΄π‘Œπ‘† 𝑇𝑂 𝐻𝐸𝐿𝑃 𝑃𝑅𝑂𝑀𝑂𝑇𝐸 𝐴 𝐺𝑂𝑂𝐷 𝑁𝐼𝐺𝐻𝑇𝑆 𝑅𝐸𝑆𝑇 
✨1: Do a night time routine!!
Preparing your body for sleep is essential, and so important! Ladies, make sure you wash off your makeup, wash your face, maybe even do a face mask. Brush your teeth, pull your hair up, whatever you need to do to feel comfy!

2: Get some new PJ’s!!
Believe it or not, what you wear to bed can have a pretty big impact on how you sleep! Make sure your clothes are loose fitting, soft, and not too thick. Allow your skin to breathe a bit!

3: Take a warm bubble bath!!
Fill your tub with warm water, not too hot, (don’t wanna scald yourself!) but not too cold, (don’t wanna freeze!) Make sure it’s juusssttt right. *@goldilocks* Fill it with some bubble bath, a bath bomb, bath salts, whichever you like best. Allow your body to sink into the water and just let go of all your daily worries and troubles. 

4: Wash your sheets!!
There is nothing better than nice, clean, fresh sheets to help you wind down and relax.

5: Make your bed!!
Now this might sound funny, but it works I swear!!! If you didn’t make your bed in the morning, before you go do your nightly routine, make your bed. Yes, I know, “Leah whyyy would I make my bed if I’m just going to get back into it!?”  Well I’ll tell ya!! If anything, it’s more of a mind game. You automatically start to feel sleepy and relaxed if you see your bed all nice, neat, and waiting for you.  Just try it, then you can tell me I’m crazy ;). 

 6: Stretch!!
Do some good ol’ classic stretching! Touch your toes, do the butterfly, reach your hands to the sky and stand on your toes. Try to stretch every muscle in your body. 

7: Listen to soft music!!
This tip and the next one, are my FAVORITE! They work the best for me, when I do these, I am literally out within minutes. Listen to something with no words, just soft, soothing sounds. Make sure it’s not too loud to keep you awake, but not too quiet that your mind starts to wander. This will help keep your mind focused on relaxation, instead of overwhelming thoughts. 

8: Listen to a sleep podcast!!
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!! This works like a charm every single time, and I listen to one almost every night. My personal favorite sleep podcast is, “Sleep Cove”, with Christopher Fitton. He has an English accent, and his voice is so soothing.  He has everything from sleep hypnosis to bedtime stories, and is just overall amazing. 10000/10 recommend this one! *I will link this podcast below!*

9: Call a loved one!!
One of my favorite things to do before bed is to call my mom, cousins, best friend, boyfriend ect. I love hearing about their day, it reminds me that there are other things going on in the world, and not everything revolves around me :)

10: TURN YOUR PHONE OFF!!
The blue light from your phone screen keeps you awake and stimulates your eyes. Turn it off at least 30 minutes before you want to be asleep, and keep it off! Turn on your “do not disturb” so you’re not getting distracted by notifications, and just let it charge. It’ll all still be there in the morning! πŸ˜‹
